Job summary

Crawford & Company is seeking a General Claims Adjuster for the Technical Services Team in Mississauga, Ontario, in a hybrid setup. You will evaluate multi-line claims focusing on property, negotiate settlements in line with provincial licensing, and maintain client relationships while meeting production goals.

Annual base salary ranges from CAD 87,000 to CAD 124,000. In addition to base pay, the role offers a professional bonus plan, car allowance and mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of functional and technical claims handling experience in large loss, commercial claims and liability.
• Construction and property background with focus on project management, quantification and appraisal.
• Commercial policy interpretation and experience making market recommendations.
• Licensed or working towards CIP and/or FCIP designation.
• Strong report writing skills.
• Team player with outstanding customer service skills.
• Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with opportunity for career growth.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and analyzes experts' reports.
• Selects and directs independent experts.
• Identifies and pursues subrogation opportunities.
• Secures and manages litigation disposition plans and budgets.
• Detailed recording of file activities and transactions in Crawford and Company and client systems.
• Maintains accurate expense accounts.
• Work with manager to maintain client relations.
• Liaise with brokers, risk managers, legal counsel and regulators.
