Job summary

Raise is seeking a Mandatory Reliability Standards Engineer in Burnaby, BC, to support facility rating activities and regulatory compliance within a major utility environment. This entry-level role focuses on FAC-008 and FERC 881 requirements, with two days per week in the office and minimal travel.

You will work under supervision to review documentation, update facility ratings, and coordinate with external entities to ensure accurate engineering data for transmission lines.

Qualifications

  • Entry-level to 1 year of relevant engineering experience (co-op/internship).
  • Interest in power systems, electrical transmission, or utility engineering.
  • Ability to review and update technical documentation including facility ratings.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to learn complex technical processes through training and practice.
  • Strong written communication for technical documentation.
  • Ability to follow established engineering procedures and standards.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple requests.

Responsibilities

  • Review facility rating documentation and prepare updates for project teams.
  • Support annual review and maintenance of facility ratings.
  • Coordinate with external entities to obtain current ratings for transmission lines.
  • Update facility ratings when new reports and data are available.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation.
  • Assist in preparing FAC-008 related documentation and audit materials.
  • Provide facility rating information to relevant operations and planning teams.
  • Contribute to data quality and standards updates in engineering documentation.
