Job summary

McCarthy Tétrault seeks a Billing Compliance Analyst for its Toronto-based Client Accounts Operations team. The role focuses on ensuring billing accuracy from matter setup to payment, including rate management and eBilling rules. A hybrid work model is offered with four days in office.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in legal billing, solid Excel and data tooling skills, and familiarity with LEDES/OCG guidelines. Salary range is $63,000–$70,000 annually with eligibility for benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of legal billing or eBilling experience in a law firm or professional services
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Familiarity with Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs), LEDES formats, and eBilling compliance standards
• Hands-on experience with eBilling platforms and related tools such as Legal Tracker, CounselLink, TyMetrix 360, or similar systems
• Strong Excel skills with ability to perform complex formulas, pivots, lookups and data transformation

Responsibilities

• Set up and configure new matters and clients accurately, managing onboarding through go-live
• Translate Outside Counsel Guidelines into clear billing rules and configurations
• Set up and validating billing formats, including LEDES files, and resolve format rejections
• Configure phase and task codes, invoice formats, and billing flags per client guidelines
• Reconcile invoices monthly and address rejections by identifying root causes
