Job summary

Kardium Inc. in Burnaby, BC, seeks an Assistant Controller to join the Finance team. You will support the Controller in accounting, monthly closes, internal controls, audits, and budgeting with a focus on accuracy and process improvements. Hybrid work arrangement, relocation not specified.

Ideal candidates have 5–8+ years in accounting within manufacturing or regulated sectors, plus ERP and Excel expertise, and a CPA/CMA designation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional designation preferred.
• 5-8+ years progressive accounting experience in manufacturing/regulated industries.
• Experience supervising or leading accounting staff.
• ERP systems experience and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting requirements.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities; detail-oriented.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of general ledger accounting activities.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and timely resolution of items.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare audit schedules and assist with auditor inquiries.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting with FP&A.
• Lead and mentor accounting staff; ensure accuracy of outputs.
