Job summary

Algonquin College is seeking an Accounts Receivable Supervisor to lead the AR team responsible for student and external customer invoicing, collections, and financial controls. You will partner with the Registrar's Office to improve processes and support modernization initiatives.

You will drive streamlined workflows, establish meaningful performance metrics, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation while ensuring accurate, timely service.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, or related discipline.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA designation is an asset.
• Experience leading accounts receivable, collections, billing, or financial operations in a complex org.
• Knowledge of student financial administration and customer account management in post-secondary or public sector contexts.
• Experience supervising staff and promoting service-oriented culture.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, controls, reconciliations and reporting.
• Knowledge of Canadian indirect taxation, including HST and student tax reporting (T2202, T4A).
• Experience with enterprise financial systems and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead AR operations, invoicing, sponsorship and third-party invoicing, and collections.
• Oversee student accounts receivable and related financial controls and reconciliations.
• Improve business processes and collaborate with Registrar's Office on system modernization.
• Streamline workflows, establish performance metrics, and promote continuous improvement.
