Qualifications

• Previous HVAC/refrigeration or RTU technician experience.
• HVAC certification is required.
• Braising and soldering skills.

• Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work on RTUs and HVAC systems.
• Inspect system components including compressors, condensers, evaporators, fan motors, fans and expansion valves.
• Perform system checks, troubleshooting and refrigerant recovery.
• Perform electrical and gas system troubleshooting.
• Maintain service logs and records.
• Research and resolve complex system problems.
• Complete assigned paperwork and forms.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure PPE use and safety regulations.

ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Black & McDonald is currently seeking an experienced Service HVAC tech to join our Service Division in Prince Albert, SK! If you are a hands-on, customer service-oriented, and technically inclined professional searching for the opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career, this position is for you. The HVAC Technician position is located in Saskatoon, SK and will report directly to the Service Supervisor.

We're looking for an experienced HVAC Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of RTU/HVAC systems and be able to troubleshoot and repair issues as they arise. If you're a self-starter with a positive attitude and a dedication to providing excellent customer service, we want to hear from you!

We are primarily an HVAC company but do work on chillers and smaller refrigeration systems

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Work on RTUs and HVAC systems
• Inspect system components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, fan motors, fans, and expansion valves.
• Perform system checks, system troubleshooting, and refrigerant recovery.
• Perform electrical and gas system troubleshooting.
• Maintain records including daily service logs, refrigerant recovery reports, and service records.
• Research and resolve complex system problems.
• Complete assigned paperwork and forms
• Conduct safety inspections, including proper use of personal protective equipment, and verify that safety regulations are followed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience as a HVAC / Refrigeration technician, or RTU technician.
• HVAC certification.
• Braising and soldering skills.
• Knowledge of local building codes.
• Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Clean Class 5 SK Driver’s License and abstract
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
