Job summary

O'Dell HVAC Group in Coquitlam, BC, is seeking an HVAC Service Technician to join our service team. You will work on installs, start-ups, and ongoing services with contractors, providing hands-on field support and remote troubleshooting.

The role requires RACM and Gas Fitter licenses, 3–5 years of commercial/industrial HVAC experience, and a valid Class 5 driver’s license. You will travel as needed and work on-site Monday to Friday during daytime hours.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in commercial/industrial HVAC service
• Licensed RACM is required
• Gas Fitter Class 1 or 2 required
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license in good standing
• Willing and able to travel within service territories
• Strong communication skills and comfort with computers
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied temperatures

Responsibilities

• Be the expert voice for customers on the O'Dell product lineup
• Start up and commission new systems with contractors
• Provide virtual or phone support for wiring, piping, programming, troubleshooting
• Collaborate with Sales for product layout and integration
• Obtain technical information and support materials from manufacturers
• Attend customer sites for hands-on support during installs and commissioning
• Assist with processing warranty claims with contractors and internal teams
• Travel to manufacturer facilities for training as required
• Support customer contracts and provide required services
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned

We are seeking an HVAC Service Technician to join our Service team in our Coquitlam location. Reporting to the HVAC Service Manager, you will be working with our contractors during installs, start-ups, and helping services run smoothly from day one. You’ll provide expert support in the field and over the phone, troubleshoot technical issues, and get hands-on with industry-leading products.

This role is not an on-call position - regular working hours are on-site between 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Be the expert voice for customers on the O’Dell product lineup
• Startup and commission new systems alongside contractors, ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely
• Offer virtual or phone support to installers and technicians for assistance with wiring, piping, programming, and general troubleshooting
• Collaborate with our Sales team to assist with product layout and integration across a wide range of products
• Connect with our manufacturers to obtain technical information and support materials
• Attend customer sites to provide hands-on support during installs, commissioning, troubleshooting, and additional responsibilities as required
• Assist with processing warranty claims by working closely with contractors and our internal team to keep the process moving in a timely manner
• Travel to manufacturer facilities for in-depth product training as required
• Supporting customer contracts and providing required services
• Other responsibilities as assigned

What You Bring

• Licensed Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic (RACM)
• Licensed Gas Fitter, Ideally Class 1 or minimum Class 2
• Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license in good standing and clean driver’s abstract
• Willing and able to travel within our service territories (territory dependent on location of hire)
• Three to five (3-5) years of experience with commercial and industrial HVAC service
• A solid understanding of computers and Microsoft Office, including openness to learning – computers and electronics are a large part of how we support modern HVAC systems
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
• Detail-oriented and reliable, following through on deadlines and commitments to customers
• Dependable, punctual, and ready to lend a hand to team members
• Meet the physical requirements of the role, which include:
• Lifting up to 50lbs
• Climbing stairs and ladders, and working at heights
• Bending, pushing, pulling, and kneeling
• Sitting for long periods of time while driving
• Working in extreme temperatures (heat and cold)
