Job summary

O'Dell HVAC Group in Dartmouth, NS, seeks an Engineering Sales Representative to drive product specifications and build strong relationships with engineering firms, consultants, and contractors.

You will influence design decisions, collaborate with internal teams on bids and pricing, and pursue new business opportunities across the mechanical contracting community. The role requires travel and a proactive, technically capable approach.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education (Degree or Diploma) in Engineering, HVAC, or related field.
  • Minimum five years of experience in an engineering sales-based role within HVAC market.
  • Strong ability to develop new business and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Knowledge of Nova Scotia Building Code Regulations and ASHRAE Standards.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM/ERP experience (NetSuite) is an asset.
  • Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple projects and travel regularly.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally within Atlantic Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product specifications and influence design decisions with engineering firms to secure O’Dell solutions in project designs and Basis of Design (BOD) documents.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with engineers, contractors, and vendors to support new and ongoing projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams—Sales, Estimating, and Project Management—to provide input on bids, product selection, and pricing.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting and expanding relationships within the mechanical contracting community.
  • Deliver product presentations and training sessions for engineers and clients, highlighting O’Dell product advantages and new technologies.
  • Provide technical support and assist with troubleshooting mechanical equipment in coordination with the Technical Support Team.
  • Participate in manufacturer training and industry events to stay current on HVAC technologies and market trends.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

We are seeking an Engineering Sales Representative to join our Dartmouth team.   • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region.
