Carmichael Engineering is seeking a Refrigeration Technician to join our Scientific division in the Eastern GTA (North York, Scarborough). This full-time, permanent role starts immediately and involves maintaining and repairing refrigeration equipment in healthcare, laboratory, and manufacturing settings.

Qualifications include an HVAC Journeyman Refrigeration license, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• HVAC Journeyman Refrigeration license is required.

• Experience with ultra-low freezers, environmental chambers, lab equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair refrigeration equipment for healthcare, lab and manufacturing clients.
• Perform on-site calibrations for temperature, humidity, CO2, and speed when needed.
• Prepare repair estimates and order parts as required.
• Carry out emergency repairs promptly and safely.
• Comply with service standards and customer requirements.
• Assist with customer inquiries and provide professional support.

Job Title: Hvac Refrigeration Technician (Scientific)

Work Location: Eastern GTA, North York, Scarborough

Salary Range: Local 787 Journeyman Rates

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and repairing refrigeration equipment for customers in the healthcare, laboratory and manufacturing industries
• Performing on site calibrations for temperature, humidity, CO2 and speed
• Putting together repair estimates and ordering parts where required
• Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently
• Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements
• Assisting with customers' queries

Requirements

• Hvac Journeyman Refrigeration license
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Client focus; dependable; reliable; flexible
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience working on Ultra-low freezers, laboratory fridges, environmental chambers, incubators, centrifuges, freeze dryers and other laboratory equipment is a benefit
• Any applicable manufacturer training is an asset (Thermo Fisher, Thermotron, Eppendorf, Sheldon, PHCbi, etc.)
• Willingness to learn new skills
• Enhanced problem-solving abilities
• Detailed documentation and good communication skills
