Job summary

Sinclair Supply Ltd. in Calgary is seeking an HVAC Commercial Estimator to translate drawings into accurate estimates for commercial and industrial projects. This in-person role requires strong attention to detail and experience reading mechanical drawings.

Qualifications

Our Calgary team is looking for a HVAC Commercial Estimator ready to put their knowledge and eye for detail to work, build accurate quotes, and help our customers bring their projects to life.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Analyze tender drawings and specs on various commercial and industrial projects.
• Prepare job / project estimates.
• Complete written proposal / tender documents for submission to clients.
• Analyze bid and job results.
• Partake in inventory control and maintenance, including cycle and annual inventory counts, as required.
• Complete required training and education.
• Fully comply with and complete all documentation as per Sinclair Supply health and safety policies, procedures and practices, and other legislation and regulatory requirements - including strict adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working environment as directed.
• Ensure excellent service is provided to internal and external customers and stakeholders; and any other related tasks as assigned by the Manager, Commercial Sales, or other senior leadership.

Qualification/Experience

• Post-secondary education in HVAC, mechanical systems, or a related field, or an HVAC technical designation is preferred.
• Previous HVAC industry experience, with knowledge of air movement, mechanical systems, and equipment, is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience reading mechanical drawings and specifications and preparing equipment selections, estimates, quotations, and submittals is required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple estimates and meet quotation deadlines, are required.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with contractors, customers, suppliers, and internal teams are required.

Additional Requirements:

• This is an in-person position, Monday to Friday, based at our Calgary location.
