Job summary

Voyago in Sarnia is seeking a Casual (On-Call) Driver for the Huron Shores Inter-Community Shuttle. You will safely transport passengers on the Sarnia–Grand Bend route with stops in Forest and other communities, providing friendly customer service and reliable service.

Role requires safe driving, valid CDL, and ability to assist passengers including wheelchair seating. Weekend availability and on-site work from Lambton College in Sarnia are essential.

Qualifications

• Safe driver with a clean driving record and a strong commitment to safety.
• Clean criminal record check and/or vulnerable sector screening.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (F, B, or C class preferred).
• Exellent customer service skills and professional demeanor.
• Comfortable driving in all weather/road conditions.
• Familiar with Sarnia, Grand Bend, and surrounding areas.
• English language skills from intermediate to advanced (B1–C2).
• Physically capable of bending, twisting, pushing and pulling wheelchairs.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport passengers along the assigned route.
• Complete basic vehicle inspections at the start of each shift.
• Operate the scheduled service starting in Sarnia with stops along the route.

Job description

Voyago is hiring a Casual (On-Call) Driver, to fill an existing role, for the Huron Shores Inter-Community Shuttle!

As a Huron Shores Shuttle Driver, you will provide safe and reliable inter-community transit service throughout the Huron Shores region. The route begins in Sarnia and travels to Grand Bend, with scheduled stops in several communities along the way.

Drivers play an important role in ensuring passengers have a positive travel experience, whether they are commuting for work, school, appointments, or shopping. In addition to operating the bus safely and on schedule, you will provide friendly customer service, assist passengers as needed, and help ensure smooth connections to various communities.

Your Role

• Safely transport passengers along the assigned route
• Complete basic vehicle inspections at the start of each shift to ensure the bus is in safe working condition
• Operate the scheduled service beginning in Sarnia, with designated stops in Forest, Port Franks and other communities along the route
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach, assisting passengers as needed
• Have flexible availability to work morning and afternoon shifts throughout the week.

Your Profile

• You are a safe driver with a clean driving record and a strong commitment to safety
• You can provide a clean criminal record check and/or vulnerable sector screening
• You hold a valid commercial driver’s licence (F, B, or C class applicants are preferred)
• You demonstrate excellent customer service skills and maintain a professional demeanor
• You are comfortable driving in all types of weather and road conditions
• You are familiar with Sarnia, Grand Bend, and the surrounding areas
• You have intermediate (B1) to advanced (C2) English language skills
• You are physically capable of bending, twisting, pushing and pulling wheelchairs

Work Location

• Your shift will start and end in Sarnia ON at Lambton College

Shift Schedule

• You must be available to cover weekends (1:30PM - 10:15PM), vacations, and sick call-ins when needed.

Hourly Rate

• The rate for this position is $20.05 per hour.
