Job summary

Exact Match Recruitment is assisting a Durham Region manufacturing employer in Oshawa to find a senior HR leader with strong union and labor relations experience. The role focuses on interpreting collective agreements, resolving grievances, and guiding leadership on performance management within a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate brings 5-7 years of HR experience in manufacturing, CHRP certification, and proven ability to lead HR operations, onboard/offboard processes, and workforce

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
• CHRP certification required or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years HR experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading teams and labor relations in a unionized setting.

• Supports labour relations activities for a unionized manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Supports labour relations activities for a unionized manufacturing environment
• Maintain positive relations and good communications with leaders of all union
• Provide interpretation and application of collective agreements
• Administer labour relations including dispute resolution, grievance resolution and arbitration process.
• Lead and oversee HR operations, ensuring alignment with company policies and legislative requirements
• Manage the full onboarding and off boarding cycle, ensuring a smooth and positive employee experience
• Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, resolving issues promptly and professionally
• Support and guide leadership in performance management processes
• Develop, enhance, and deliver internal training programs aligned with organizational goals
• Prepare HR reports for government compliance and internal management needs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Certified Human Resources Professional certification (CHRP).Experience
• 5-7 years Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
• 5-7 years leadership experience leading teams
• Experience working in a unionized setting required. Union and Labor Relations experience required, no exceptions!
• Demonstrated experience leading labour relations, grievance handling,
• Experience providing HR leadership and coaching to managers and HR team members.
• Proficiency with HRIS
• Strong analytical skills for workforce planning, budgeting, and reporting.
