Qualifications

Job description

Tammy Boyko and Carlan Wilbon with Aplin have partnered with our client, located 20 minutes south of Winnipeg, to recruit a Human Resources Manager for a maternity leave coverage role, starting as soon as possible.

Responsibilities of a Human Resource Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, onboarding, and training
  • Perform new hire orientation and employee onboarding activities, including the completion of new hire paperwork
  • Provide coaching and counseling to managers and employees on HR-related issues, including conflict resolution, performance improvement, and compliance
  • Develop, implement, and enforce HR policies and procedures where necessary to ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations
  • Manage employee relations issues, including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions
  • Implement and maintain employee performance management programs, including goal setting, performance evaluations, career development and performance improvement plans
  • Provide guidance and support on compensation and benefits programs, including salary structures, incentive plans, and employee benefits
  • Accurately and efficiency process employee payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and provide support to employees with payroll related inquiries
  • Manage the employee benefits program, from enrollment to termination, and provide support to employees with benefits related inquiries
  • Develop and deliver HR training programs to managers and employees
  • Maintain HR metrics and analytics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives

Skills a Human Resource Manager would be preferred to have:

  • Post-secondary education (Degree, Diploma) in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field is required
  • 5+ years of experience working in a Human Resources role at the level of HR Generalist or higher
  • 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial role in Human Resources is considered an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and HRIS software
