Human Resources Information System Analyst

One of our recruiters has been tasked by a major oil and gas company to find an experienced HR Analyst for a 12-month project based in Calgary, AB, working on a hybrid 5/40 schedule.

Role Overview:

Reporting to the HR Manager and supporting HR Business Partners, the HR Analyst will play a key role in managing HR data, streamlining processes, and assisting with the transition to a new HRIS system. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a passion for process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure data accuracy through audits, reconciliations, and HR system updates.
• Document and refine HR processes to improve efficiency and standardization.
• Provide HR documentation, such as employment verification letters.
• Maintain workforce planning data integrity and facilitate HRIS data uploads.
• Adhere to data protection, compliance, and regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct data analysis using Excel and Power BI to support HR decision-making.
• Collaborate with HR Business Partners to interpret findings and optimize workflows.
• Support HR initiatives and adapt to evolving business needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Strong knowledge of HR systems and integration with policies and workflows.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and experience with Power BI dashboarding.
• Experience managing and analyzing large data sets.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to extract meaningful insights.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Degree or certification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience supporting HR process improvements and change management initiatives.
• Schedule: 5/40 (Monday–Friday).
• Duration: 12-month contract.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Compliance with workplace policies, including a drug-free and harassment-free environment.
