Human Resources Generalist - (6-Month Contract)

McCann Worldgroup Canada is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in our downtown Toronto Head Office. This is a 6-month contract opportunity. The role reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Human Resources Business Partner and supports our 3 office locations (Toronto, Montreal, and Calgary). This role will be responsible for supporting and delivering HR services and programs aligned with Agency objectives. The incumbent will excel in a fast-paced environment dealing with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. The HR Generalist supports our Agency’s people-focused culture and assists in cultivating a diverse and inclusive workplace.

What You Will Do…

1. Policies and Procedures Administration – ensuring company HR protocols are upheld, providing guidance to employees and managers on interpretation and implementation.
2. New Employee Immersion Program – manage and deliver programs for all new hires (pre-hire, day one, and check-ins).
3. Learning and Development – coordinate, organize, and track training initiatives. Participate in yearly planning of training.
4. HR Administration – manage temporary/freelance hires, staffing agencies, internships including contract preparation and extensions, job description development, and related HR materials.
5. Offboarding – manage administration of terminations, resignations, and exit interviews.
6. Time & Attendance – answer inquiries, report, and resolve discrepancies (Workday/Fiori).
7. Employee Relations – handle junior level relations escalating to HR Leadership when required.
8. Leaves Management – manage Maternity/Parental Leaves, STD, and Unpaid Leaves.
9. Performance Coaching – support the annual review cycle, feedback, and check-ins.
10. HR Metrics – manage Exit Tool, New Hire Tool, Compensation Reports, and Ad Hoc Reports (PeopleSoft).
11. Health and Safety – actively participate on the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
12. Ask HR SharePoint Site – update and maintain all HR information.
13. Provide coverage for the HR Coordinator when on holiday.
14. Other projects, initiatives, and duties as assigned.

Who You Will Be…

1. 2 to 3 years’ experience in a similar Human Resources role.
2. Post-secondary education in Human Resources or equivalent work experience.

Additional qualities include a strong customer service focus, approachability, proactive assistance, teamwork, adaptability, process improvement passion, analytical skills, accountability, excellent communication, HR technology proficiency, multitasking ability, presentation skills, and understanding of complex organizations. Legally able to work in Canada; HRPA membership and designation are assets.
