Job summary

TBWA\Canada is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to help make TBWA a great place to work by supporting recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and health and safety. You will be the trusted partner to employees and managers, bridging the HR team and the agency in a hybrid Toronto environment.

The role requires 3–5 years in HR, knowledge of Ontario standards (ESA, OHRC), strong organizational skills, and proficiency with MS Office and HRIS systems (Workday a plus).

Qualifications

  • Completed degree or diploma in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources roles; agency experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario employment standards, labour legislation and HR best practices; Quebec and Alberta knowledge an asset.
  • Experience developing and executing people programs that strengthen culture, engagement, and inclusion.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to follow processes and checklists to ensure reports and documents are error-free.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an important point of contact for employee questions on policies, benefits, and HR processes.
  • Lead new hire onboarding to ensure every employee starts with a great experience.
  • Lead the creation and management of Freelance contracts, NDAs, and maintain records in our HRIS platform.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in our HRIS platform, and process all employment changes (hires, terminations, promotions, LOAs etc.).
  • Create Employment Agreements and other types of employee documentation.
  • Support the HR team with recruitment and hiring initiatives.
  • Support HR initiatives on global and agency-level projects.
  • Support initiatives that strengthen employee experience, retention, inclusion, and agency culture.
  • Support HR reporting, data analysis, and workforce insights to inform business decisions.
  • Ensure HR practices remain compliant with regulations (ESA, LSA, AODA, Ontario Human Rights Code).
  • Support benefits administration including enrollment, changes, leave management, and vendor communication.
  • Contribute to development and continuous improvement of HR policies, programs, and internal tools.

Often the first point of contact for employees, you will provide HR support across a wide range of HR administration. You will be seen as a trusted partner to employees and managers, supporting everything from recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, benefits, vacation tracking, payroll, and health and safety.

What You’ll Do:

What You Bring:
  • Completed degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, or a related field
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources roles. Advertising agency experience an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario employment standards, labour legislation and HR best practices Quebec and Alberta employment legislation knowledge an asset
  • Demonstrated experience assisting in the development and execution of people programs that strengthen culture, engagement, and inclusion
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail oriented and organized, and follow processes and checklists to ensure reports, documentation, and deliverables are error free
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate through open communication with a team working in a hybrid environment
  • Demonstrated ability to be a proactive self-starter who prioritizes effectively and takes initiative
  • Demonstrated ability managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability in exercising discretion, sound judgement, tact and diplomacy in all communicationsAbility to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems, with Workday experience an asset

The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $60,000 per year. Compensation will be determined based on qualifications, relevant experience, and internal equity. This job description represents an active vacancy that we are currently hiring for.
