Qualifications

  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Deep knowledge of employment law, organizational development, and HR best practices.
  • Experience in retail HR preferred.

The Human Resources Director is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s human resources strategy in alignment with its mission, vision, and long-term goals. This role provides strategic guidance and hands-on leadership across all facets of HR including talent acquisition, employee development, culture and engagement, compensation, compliance, and HR operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company’s mission, vision, and long-term goals.
  • Act as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, offering insights and data to drive decision-making.

Talent Management & Development

  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Design and lead talent development programs, succession planning, and career pathing.
  • Foster a learning culture and oversee training programs that build capability.

Employee Relations & Culture

  • Promote a positive organizational culture that supports diversity, equity, inclusion, and employee well-being.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives, conflict resolution, and grievance procedures.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the design and administration of competitive compensation structures and benefits programs.
  • Monitor market trends to ensure offerings attract and retain top talent.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations.
  • Lead investigations and risk mitigation strategies related to HR issues.

HR Operations & Systems

  • Manage HR budgets and optimize HR processes, systems (e.g., HRIS), and data analytics.
  • Lead change management efforts in times of organizational transition.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional certifications such as CPHR, SPHR, are an asset.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Deep knowledge of employment law, organizational development, and HR best practices.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives and drive organizational change.
  • Experience in retail HR preferred.
