Recruitment Partner | Broader Public Sector & Healthcare | Altis Recruitment | Toronto

Our client, a Crown Corporation located in Ottawa, is seeking an HR Assistant for a full-time 6-month contract opportunity (potential extension). This role supports a small but dynamic HR team, involving HRIS data management, recruitment coordination, pension administration, and HR project support.

Note: Existing Reliability/Enhanced or Secret Clearance is required for this position.

Work Arrangement:

  • Hybrid model: 1 day per week in office with onsite team days.
  • Occasional travel within Ontario (within 2 to 3 hours from Ottawa).
  • Flexibility at the start for training, which may require more frequent onsite presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts: scheduling interviews, posting jobs, communicating with candidates.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Assist with benefits and pension administration, including enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries.
  • Generate reports and HR metrics for decision-making and compliance.
  • Participate in HR projects, process improvements, and policy development.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 2-3 years of HR experience.
  • Existing reliability or security clearance.
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS platforms; experience with Dayforce is ideal.
  • SharePoint experience is an asset.
  • Pension and benefit administration experience is preferred.
