Job summary

Liburdi Group of Companies seeks a Human Resources Assistant to cover a leave, starting December 2026 through March 2028, in Hamilton, Ontario. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a base wage of $22.50–$24.00 per hour.

The role includes full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, HR reporting, and training across Ontario facilities; CHRP pursuit is an asset. This temporary position offers an opportunity to contribute to HR operations and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or certificate in Human Resources is required.
  • Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Pursuing CHRP designation is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with full-cycle recruitment, including phone screenings and interviews as required.
  • Assist with job ad creation and postings, internally and externally.
  • Coordinate pre-start reference checks.
  • Draft employment contracts.
  • Process onboarding documentation and brief stakeholders.
  • Organize and conduct new hire orientation training.
  • Coordinate HR training across Ontario facilities.
  • Participate in job fairs and campus recruitment events.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation.
  • Assist with HR reporting, data analysis, and workforce metrics in Excel.
  • Prepare presentations and training materials using PowerPoint and AI tools.
  • Prepare travel letters for international employee travel.

Job Description

We are seeking a candidate who is qualified for the role of Human Resources Assistant. This position is to provide coverage for an employee leave and is anticipated to begin in December 2026 and continue through approximately March 2028. The hours will typically be in the office Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Base wage:$22.50 - $24.00 / hour

Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to):
  • Assisting with full-cycle recruitment, including conducting phone screenings and participating in interviews as required
  • Assisting with the creation and posting of job ads, both internally and externally
  • Coordinating pre-start reference checks
  • Drafting employment contracts
  • Processing onboarding documentation and communicating with internal stakeholders regarding new hires
  • Organizing and conducting new hire orientation training
  • Organizing and conducting general safety and HR training across our Ontario facilities
