Position Summary

The Human Resources Assistant will provide administrative support to the HR department and assist with day-to-day operations. This role involves maintaining employee records, coordinating recruitment processes, and supporting various HR initiatives to help ensure a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment activities including posting jobs, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Maintain and update employee records, databases, and documentation.
  • Support the onboarding and offboarding process.
  • Help coordinate training and development activities.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Prepare HR-related reports and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Assist in organizing employee engagement activities and internal communications.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial labor regulations.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of HR or administrative experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Familiarity with HR software (e.g., HRIS) is an asset.
