Job Description
The HSE Specialist is responsible for implementing and continuously improving Health & Safety programs. They provide technical and professional support to operations, reporting directly to the Plant Manager and functionally to the Director of Health, Safety & Environment.

Responsibilities
- Partner with the Plant Manager to execute safety strategies aligning with business goals.
- Coach employees and supervisors to improve safety communication and behaviors towards zero injuries.
- Apply engineering controls to manage hazards and reduce risks.
- Identify, evaluate, and adapt hazard control measures to local conditions.
- Implement and advise on hazard control programs.
- Ensure compliance with standards and monitor legislative changes.
- Support development and review of safety documentation like JHAs and SOPs.
- Perform safety evaluations, audits, and lead safety committees.
- Conduct safety training sessions and maintain training records.
- Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry organizations.
- Review incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage safety metrics and budgets.
- Facilitate safety onboarding for new hires.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, science, engineering, or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing safety role.
- Professional EHS certification preferred.
- Leadership skills and knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills.
- Results-oriented with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
