Job summary

Acden Holdings seeks an experienced Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSE&Q) Manager to lead the corporate HSE&Q framework across six business units, ensuring compliant practices and continuous improvement. The role requires 8–10 years of progressive HSE leadership in industrial settings.

Based in Taiganova, Fort McMurray, AB, the position is a temporary one-year term with a 5-on/2-off schedule. Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package are offered for this on-site role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive HSE experience in supervisor/management roles.
• Demonstrated success developing and maintaining HSEQ systems, policies, and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Alberta OHS legislation and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and strengthen the corporate HSE&Q framework across six business units and drive continuous improvement of IMS and safe work practices.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, client and site requirements, including Alberta OHS and environmental guidelines.
• Build and maintain external relationships as liaison with regulators, OHS officers, WCB and client safety representatives; maintain COR and contractor registries (ISNetworld, Avetta, ComplyWorks).
• Collaborate with leaders to strengthen risk management, provide practical HSE&Q guidance, conduct risk assessments, and establish policies and controls.
• Lead emergency preparedness and response planning for regional and client-specific emergencies.
• Oversee HSE&Q training and competency development, certifications, and recertification schedules to meet requirements.
• Drive incident prevention and measurable improvement through reporting, investigation, trend analysis and KPI monitoring.
