Job summary

Champion Petfoods, a premier pet food maker in Alberta, seeks an Health, Safety and Environmental Manager CAN to drive safety culture at our state‑of‑the‑art facility in Acheson. You will coach management and front‑line teams, embedding best practices and ensuring compliant operations.

You will lead safety programs, train staff, run the HSE committee, and oversee investigations and OHSE compliance, with a focus on continuous improvement and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• OH&S certificate or diploma required.
• CRST or CRSP designation preferred.
• 5+ years as a Safety Leader in manufacturing.
• Strong communication, diplomacy, and leadership skills.
• Ability to respond to emergencies 24/7.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety, health, and environment programs and policies.
• Train employees in safety management best practices.
• Chair and coordinate the HSE Joint Committee.
• Conduct incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure OHSE compliance with legislation and internal standards.
• Collaborate to improve safety manuals, policies, and procedures.
