Job summary

Graham Contracting, Ltd. is seeking a qualified HSEQ Coordinator to support the Buildings Division in Winnipeg, Canada. The role focuses on managing health, safety, and environment on multiple projects, including site visits and reporting.

You will report to the HSE Manager and help lead safety initiatives across offices and worksites, coordinating training, inspections, and regulatory compliance to ensure safe, compliant project execution.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and a college-level diploma/training program in safety.
• Certification in Health and Safety or a safety designation is required.
• 2+ years of experience in safety or a related field.
• Understanding of how HSE MS systems work.
• Proficient with MS Office and online reporting software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct project-specific safety orientations with new workers and visitors prior to work on site.
• Perform and document equipment inspections, prepare reports, and follow up on deficiencies.
• Report noncompliant conditions to the project Superintendent/Supervisor.
• Assist in BBS assessments when required.
• Ensure CSP/SDS/MSDS documentation is current and posted as required.
• Verify ERP and related emergency documents are posted and communicated to workers.
• Attend and participate in HSE meetings.
• Review incident reports and track monthly safety statistics.
• Conduct project inspections to support hazard identification.
• Arrange or conduct HSE training for workers and Supervisors.
• Interface with regulatory bodies and clients as a hands-on point of contact.

Graham is actively recruiting for a HSEQ Coordinator supporting the Buildings Division in Winnipeg. This role is based in Winnipeg and will often require Project site visits

Your Role in Building What Matters – From Office to Site

Reporting to the HSE Manager, the HSE Coordinator is responsible for HSE on projects, and can support multiple projects as a floating role. The incumbent is also responsible for monthly / weekly reporting, supporting operations in the day-to-day functions of the HSE and leading and lagging safety indicators to the Regional Safety Manager, Director, and Corporate.

Your Role in Building What Matters – From Office to Site

• Conduct project-specific safety orientation with all workers and visitors new to the worksite prior to commencement of work on the project.
• Confirm that equipment inspections, preparation of reports, and follow-up on all noted deficiencies are completed.
• Report any noncompliant conditions to the responsible project Superintendent / Supervisor.
• Assist in BBS assessments, when required.
• Confirm through inspections that controlled products supplied to projects are accompanied by a corresponding current SDS / MSDS, and other documentation as required by local government regulations.
• Confirm through observations that the ERP and other related emergency documents, bulletins, and notices are posted and communicated to workers.
• Attend and participate in HSE meetings.
• Review incident reports and maintain monthly statistics to identify undesirable trends.
• Conduct project inspections with the project Superintendent and worker to support hazard identification.
• Arrange or conduct HSE training for workers and Supervisors.
• Interact with regulatory bodies and clients, taking a hands‑on approach and acting as the point of contact.
• Deal with issues and support Operations as required.

The Right Tools for the Job

• High school graduation and completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school.
• Certification in Health and Safety, or a safety designation.
• 2+ years of experience in safety or a related field.
• Understanding of how HSE MS systems work.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and online reporting software.
