Qualifications

Here's how an HSE Coordinator in our Calgary District contributes to our team:

  1. Monitor and assist with the implementation of the project HSE Plan, environmental plan, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices.
  2. Assist in conducting and identifying training needs specific to the project.
  3. Provide project teams with HSE information and trends, and help create action plans.
  4. Assist in developing and implementing hazard identification tools.
  5. Conduct project HSE inspections and verify corrective actions are implemented.
  6. Support project teams with emergency response plan implementation and monitor security requirements.
  7. Gather, review, and provide input on trade documentation, and monitor trade contractor safety compliance.
  8. Verify that equipment and tool inspections are conducted and documented per requirements.
  9. Notify stakeholders of incidents and support investigations.
  10. Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Postsecondary certificate/diploma in HSE is strongly preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience in a related role is preferred.
  • Working toward safety designation is an asset.
  • Ability to learn and apply OH&S, environmental legislation, and HSE processes.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts with craft workers.
  • Ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quick to learn new technology.
