Job Title

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Advisor – Vancouver, BC.

Job Type

Permanent full‑time salaried employment.

Location

Preference for candidates local to the Vancouver region. Hybrid work arrangement: home office and on‑site as required.

Hours

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM MST (40 hour/week).

Travel

50% travel within Canada and the West Region.

Vehicle

A company vehicle will be provided.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
  • Carry out duties as required by the Director of Health and Safety, such as workplace investigations and audits.
  • Monitor compliance with the use of in‑house databases.
  • Liaise with health and safety regulatory authorities and customers.
  • Train employees in best practices that ensure safety while carrying out day‑to‑day work schedules.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 3–5 years’ experience with heavy construction and heavy equipment.
  • Preferred: an OH&S certificate, CRSP, NCSO or related designation and field experience in a safety‑related role.
  • Knowledge of provincial legislation.
  • Clean driver’s licence sufficient to operate company vehicles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills; experience with FCC and online databases such as ISNet is an asset.
  • Passion for safety, excellent mentoring skills and a catalyst for change in safety culture.
Important
  • The successful candidate must be local to Vancouver, BC, with expectations of 50% travel within Canada.
  • As a safety‑sensitive position, candidates must successfully pass pre‑employment testing, including a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
