The Opportunity

Marcon is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support the implementation and continuous improvement of our Health, Safety & Environmental Management System (HSEMS) across a diverse portfolio of construction projects throughout the Lower Mainland.

Reporting to the Manager, HSE, this role acts as a trusted technical advisor and partner to project teams by supporting regulatory compliance, leading investigations, conducting inspections and audits, and strengthening safety culture across active sites. The HSE Advisor plays an important role in coaching site safety personnel, supporting operational leaders, and driving proactive risk management practices that support safe and efficient project delivery.

This is an opportunity for a safety professional who thrives in fast‑paced construction environments, values strong relationships, and is passionate about creating safer workplaces through collaboration, technical expertise, and operational discipline.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Support implementation and ongoing improvement of Marcon’s HSEMS across multiple active construction projects
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews to support COR readiness and regulatory alignment
  • Lead incident and near‑miss investigations and support corrective action follow‑through
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to Site Safety Coordinators, project superintendents, and site teams
  • Deliver HSE training and promote awareness of evolving health and safety requirements and best practices
  • Facilitate pre‑mobilization meetings and support trade partner alignment on safety expectations
  • Build strong working relationships with project stakeholders, operational leaders, and regulatory authorities including WorkSafeBC
  • Support development and continuous improvement of HSE programs, procedures, and operational standards
What You Bring
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in construction safety
  • Certificate or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline
  • Level 3 (Advanced) First Aid certification
  • CRSP or CHSC designation (or actively working toward designation)
  • Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC legislation, COR requirements, and construction safety best practices
  • Experience leading investigations, delivering training, and conducting risk assessments
  • Strong communication, coaching, and stakeholder relationship skills
  • Ability to travel to project sites across the Lower Mainland
