Job summary

Stuart Olson Inc. in Fort Saskatchewan, AB, is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor for long-term maintenance work with home every night.

You will collaborate with site leadership and craft teams, lead day-to-day HSE initiatives, and foster a strong safety culture on site. Reporting to the Regional HSE Manager, you will engage with workers and supervisors to make safety a shared responsibility, conduct hazard assessments and incident investigations, and maintain HSE documentation while coaching

Qualifications

  • NCSO designation (CRSP, CSP, or NEBOSH preferred)
  • 3–7 years of HSE experience in industrial or maintenance environments
  • Energy Safety Canada H2S Alive
  • CSTS 2020, CSTS 09 or PST
  • Energy Safety Canada Confined Space
  • Energy Safety Canada Fall Protection
  • Able to work under SABA mask preferred
  • Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience: Proven background as an HSE Advisor in industrial or petrochemical environments
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of HSE programs, regulatory compliance, and Behavior-Based Safety principles
  • Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching abilities to engage all levels of the workforce
  • Technical: Ability to conduct audits, investigations and hazard assessments of varying complexity; prepare report; and maintain accurate documentation
  • Education/Certification: Preference for a diploma in health and safety; equivalent combinations considered
  • Other: Comfortable with high field presence (85%) and collaborating with site leadership and craft personnel
