Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Ironworker ticket and relevant safety tickets required.
  • CWB Welders' ticket will also be considered.
  • Energy Safety Canada H2S Alive, CSTS 2020/09 or PST, Confined Space, Fall Protection are required.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proactive safety leadership on site.
  • Participate in project planning as required.
  • Scope all jobs and advise client of additional requirements (lifting, risk assessments, permits).
  • Prioritize and direct work to comply with codes and practices.
  • Ensure safety codes, acts and regulations are followed.
  • Lead continuous improvement programs and communicate with client on issues.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and piping with the client to resolve problems.
  • Minimize re-work and maintain high-quality standards on all tasks.
  • Maintain company policies, procedures and practices on site.
  • Ensure work complies with all applicable codes and regulations.
  • Report incidents and near misses to Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Verify safety certifications are valid and arrange training as needed.
  • Keep Supervisor informed of work, equipment, or personnel issues.
  • Make recommendations to Supervisor on recognition or discipline.
  • Maintain daily/weekly shift documentation and forward to appropriate parties.
  • Track and record work performance and progress.
  • Resolve employee and work-related issues and report them accordingly.
  • Seek advice from Supervisor as required.
  • Maintain good cross-shift relations and relations with other contractors on site.
  • Assist in lease clean up where necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Consistently demonstrate proactive and visible safety leadership.
  • Participate in project planning as required.
  • Scope all jobs to be performed and advise client of any additional requirements (lifting requirements, risk assessments, specialized permits etc.).
  • Prioritize and direct work ensuring all codes of practice are adhered to.
  • Ensure all relevant safety codes, acts and regulations are followed in the course of work execution.
  • Spearhead continuous improvement programs that capture value created.
  • Work with client to troubleshoot and correct equipment and piping issues.
  • Ensure re-work is minimized and all work is carried out with high quality standards.
  • Ensure all company policies, procedures and practices are maintained.
  • Ensure all work is performed in an orderly efficient professional manner meeting all applicable codes, regulations and acts.
  • Report all incidents and near misses in a timely manner to Supervisor.
  • Ensure employee safety certifications are valid and arrange training for the maintenance of the same.
  • Keep Supervisor informed of any work, equipment, employee or other issues requiring attention.
  • Make recommendations to Supervisor as to employee recognition/ discipline.

  • Maintain good cross shift relations (via communication, mutual respect, pass over of documentation, maintenance of office/vehicle housekeeping etc.).
  • Maintain good relations with other contractors on site.
  • Assist in lease clean up where necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Qualifications
  • Journeyperson Ironworker ticket
  • *Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Welders' ticket will also be considered
  • Energy Safety Canada H2S Alive
  • CSTS 2020, CSTS 09 or PST
  • Energy Safety Canada Confined Space
  • Energy Safety Canada Fall Protection
  • Able to work under SBA mask preferred
  • Rigging experience considered an asset
  • Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing
Working Conditions

  • Must be clean shaven
  • Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
Physical Requirements
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
