Simnet is looking for someone highly skilled in all aspects of human resources, payroll, benefits, and IT recruitment. Reporting to the Administrative Director, this role interacts with various departments to ensure that we are creating a positive and inclusive environment. If you are self-motivated, personable, professional, level-headed, and very discreet, this role might be for you. (This role CANNOT be done remotely, this is an on-site role only.)

Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment and Onboarding:

o Manage the full life cycle of recruitment, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, making offers, and completing background and reference checks.

o Establish relationships with candidates through social networking, user groups, internal and external referrals, career fairs, etc., to build pipelines.

o Onboard new employees and process all employment-related documentation, including benefit enrollment.

  • HR Administration:
  • o Develop, maintain, and communicate HR policies, ensuring ongoing compliance with legislation.

    o Manage the performance management process, including goal setting, mid-year and year-end evaluations, and performance improvement plans.

    o Serve as the point person for HR-related questions and internal communications.

  • Benefits and Payroll:
  • o Administer end-to-end payroll for salaried, hourly, and commissioned employees using QuickBooks Online.

    o Ensure payroll accuracy, including overtime, commissions, bonuses, and on-call pay.

    o Oversee statutory deductions, RRSP contributions, and remittances, ensuring compliance with CRA and provincial requirements.

    o Maintain records and support external audits by preparing and submitting required documentation.

    o Collaborate with Finance to support budgeting and forecasting related to compensation and benefits.

    o Manage group benefits enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries.

    o Ensure coordination between benefits and payroll for accurate deductions and records.

  • Employee Engagement and Development:
  • o Look for creative ways to keep employees engaged through rewards, recognition, and incentives.

    o Develop and maintain training and development programs to support employee growth and skill enhancement.

  • Health and Safety:
  • o Promote and oversee health and safety requirements to ensure compliance with regulations and create a safe working environment.

  • Offboarding:
  • o Complete the offboarding process, including conducting exit interviews, terminating system-related access, and producing Records of Employment (ROEs).

  • Promoting Simnet:
  • o Identify ways to promote Simnet as an employer of choice, enhancing the company's reputation and attracting top talent.

  • Administration:
  • o Other office administrative duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    · Post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources or a related field; CHRP/CPHR/CHRL designation preferred.

    · Minimum of 3 years of proven HR experience with a focus on automating and optimizing HR processes.

    · Extensive experience with Zoho People and Zoho Recruit; ability to leverage these tools to enhance workflow and efficiency.

    · Familiarity with QuickBooks Online Payroll or similar applications.

    · Strong problem identification and resolution skills; ability to address complex HR issues with innovative solutions.

    · High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in managing HR data and compliance requirements.

    · Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coach, influence, and drive change within the organization.

    · Prior experience as a technical-based recruiter or in a similar HR role would be considered an asset.
