You bring a robust generalist background in technical recruitment and HR operations, with expertise in attracting high-calibre technical talent and extensive experience managing the entire employee lifecycle.You bring a robust generalist background in Recruitment and HR Operations, with expertise in attracting high-calibre technical talent and extensive experience managing the entire employee lifecycle.In addition, you are a proactive, problem-solving, and operationally minded professional with over 10+ years of experience to effectively manage the office and administrative functions of a small, dynamic company.You thrive in a mission-critical environment working with high-performance staff, and excel at ensuring the team can meet its objective.

What you will be doing:

  • Leveraging your strong recruitment expertise, evaluate applicant profiles for technical capabilities and role alignment, and screen behavioural characteristics/traits for performance fit.

  • Manage the recruiting process, including online assessment tools, scheduling meetings, interviews, and travel arrangements to ensure a high-performing team.

  • Manage and execute new employee onboarding, including relaying employee performance feedback both during and beyond the 3 probationary period.

  • Oversee all end-to-end HR functions, including reviews for employees, documentation for reviews/performance, implementing PIP if required, feedback, and conflict resolution.

  • Records management for employees and annual reporting, including immigration and work permit requirements when applicable.

  • Liaise and coordinate with external advisors/resources, such as immigration and employment lawyers.

  • Manage HR and employee-related technology, including subscription tools and website-related administration.

What you must have:

  • 10+ years’ experience in a role with full cycle HR capabilities (recruiting to hiring to end of employment).

  • Strong recruitment expertise, especially with hiring professionals with technical experience and the ability to effectively assess a candidate’s behavioural characteristics/traits for performance fit.

  • Completion of post-secondary education.

  • Experience working both autonomously and collaboratively in a small, high-performance team environment.

  • Knowledgeable of the B.C. Employment Standards Act and experience working with employment lawyers.

  • Sophisticated interpersonal skills to tactfully work with external providers, the PhD team, and leadership.

  • Ability to handle conflict and deal with challenging situations that arise.

  • Work unobtrusively with the technical team but be able to provide feedback.

  • Independent and results-driven problem solver with a continuous-improvement mindset and knows when to escalate.

  • Excellent planning and prioritization skills with the ability to remain flexible and adaptable to business demands.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Confidence and experience with G Suite applications and tools.

  • An unflappable attitude with the ability to foster a focused and performance-driven work environment.

  • Always maintain professionalism and utmost confidentiality.

Salary/Rate Range: $85,000-$100,000/year CAD
