Job summary

Martinrea International Inc. is seeking an HR Administrator to provide support to the Human Resources department during an 18-month maternity leave. The role requires a HR-related degree, 2+ years of experience, and familiarity with OHSA, WSIB, and payroll processes.

Proficiency with ADP and SAP is an asset, as is strong English communication. The successful candidate will manage HR systems, recruitment tasks, training records, payroll preparation, and benefits administration in a fast-paced

Qualifications

  • College diploma or university degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years related work experience.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of OHSA and WSIB rules and regulations.
  • Experience with Health & Safety Committees and WSIB claims management.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Critical thinker with attention to detail and problem solving.
  • Experience with ADP is an asset and/or payroll processing knowledge.
  • Experience with SAP is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintenance of Performance Management systems and evaluation processes.
  • Perform recruitment tasks: job descriptions, resumes, postings.
  • Coordinate orientation model for temporary and full-time staff and update HR systems.
  • Ensure training records are up to date and compliant.
  • Administer benefit provider and support employee questions.
  • Assist employees with handbook questions and HR inquiries.
  • Maintain employee files and records.
  • Identify improvements to run HR department efficiently.
  • Prepare payroll information and assist with payroll processing.
  • Attract candidates and set up interviews for future roles.
  • Track employee data such as service dates, pay increases, and attendance.
  • Support Sustainability meetings and maintain related spreadsheets.
  • Maintain WSIB files and comply with WSIB legislation.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental policies.
  • Travel to alternate work locations and attend meetings as needed.

Job Summary

Provide administrative support to the Human Resources department through communication of policies and procedures and updating the HR systems accurately for the duration of covering a 18-month Maternity Leave.

Required Qualifications
  • College diploma or University degree in a Human Resources Management or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years related work experience
  • Related experience in an Unionized environment is an asset

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the maintenance of the company's Performance Management systems; Performance Appraisal process, Progressive Discipline process and Performance Improvement Plan
  • Perform recruitment tasks; job descriptions creation, sorting resumes, and postings
  • Coordinate the Martinrea Orientation Model for all temporary and full time employees. Complete the necessary administration to ensure they are entered into the HR systems accordingly
  • Ensure all system requirements are being met for tracking of company training; update employee/department training records in HR systems; update employee's files and follow-up where necessary
  • Administer benefit provider, Claimsecure; update employee changes in on-line system and assist employees with benefit questions and submission of form
  • Assist employees with concerns and answer questions on the Martinrea Employee Handbook and other HR related questions
  • Maintenance of employee files
  • Identify and implement improvements for HR department, to ensure runs as efficiently and effectively as possible
  • Responsible for typing correspondence, reports, minutes and providing support to all departments
  • Responsible for scheduling internal and external training
  • Prepare new employee information for payroll and create files
  • Prepare and balance payroll for processing
  • Responsible for attracting new candidates and setting up interviews for future positions
  • Responsible for tracking all employee information such as; service dates; pay increases, performance reviews, birthdays, attendance etc.
  • Participate and Organize 'Leave it Better' Sustainability Meetings, Events, and update applicable spreadsheet
  • Maintain employee WSIB files and comply with all WSIB legislation
  • Abide by all company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human resources policies, and Martinrea Employee Handbook
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation, for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Understand and be compliant with all Federal and Provincial laws as it relates to Harassment and Violence in the workplace.
  • Compliance with Corporate policies and procedures
  • May be required to travel to an alternate work location as well as travel for meetings; conference; training
