Scope Of Position

Human Resources Coordinator who will report to the Human Resources Manager, and be responsible for improving the competitiveness and profitability of the company by ensuring the hiring of qualified and experienced personnel, by coaching and mentoring new employees and by providing the appropriate training plans for existing employees and working harmoniously with all departments

Human Resources Coordinator who will report to the Human Resources Manager, and be responsible for improving the competitiveness and profitability of the company by ensuring the hiring of qualified and experienced personnel, by coaching and mentoring new employees and by providing the appropriate training plans for existing employees and working harmoniously with all departments

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in full-cycle recruitment (on-boarding and off-boarding), including creating, posting, and managing job advertisements, screening, and arranging interviews with candidates, and conducting reference checks.
  • Update employee files in HRIS system for new hires, changes, transfers, wage changes, and terminations.
  • Tracks and files all employee-related documents i.e. Performance Warnings, Reviews, Policy Signoffs, etc.
  • Assists with the management of Benefits programs.
  • Ensure timely completion of accident and incident reports, keep records of the same and submit reports to WSIB.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics.
  • Plan, organized, and schedules plant training including 1st Aid, Forklift/Material Handling equipment, WHIMS, and OHSA, health and safety training as required
  • Schedule and provide agenda to participating managers for monthly employee meetings.
  • Liaison with the Health and Safety Representative to ensure schedule, attendance, and record-keeping of regular Health and Safety committee meetings.
  • Support and encourage KAIZEN principles, concepts, and activities,
  • Encourage GEAR activities from staff to meet corporate goals,
  • Ensure that all personnel are working in a safe and efficient manner,
  • Perform other duties as required (i.e. special projects).

Basic Requirements

  • Recent graduate to 1 year experience
  • Degree in Human Resources Management or related field
  • Excellent problem-solving techniques and methods
  • Ability to coach employees at all levels through difficult situations, ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve issues using judgment consistent with the organization's preferences and priorities
  • Ability to speak and present effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization
  • Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, and flexible.
  • Ability to handle all levels of employee discipline including termination.
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive
  • Computer skills in the area of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with TS16949/ISO14001 systems an asset
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • CHRP Designation or working towards one is an asset.
