Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) in British Columbia seeks an Advisor, Human Resources reporting to the Senior Advisor HR. The role leads and assists with a broad range of HR services and builds relationships across departments and levels of the business.

The successful candidate will have broad HR experience and operate with integrity and confidentiality, even under tight deadlines and changes. EVR offers a compressed work week with alternating Fridays off, a competitive compensation package,

Qualifications

• Degree in Human Resources, Business or Organizational Development or equivalent.
• Minimum six years of Human Resources.
• Experience in unionized work environment is an asset.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
• Provide coaching and resources to employees and supervisors with respect to career development, compensation, recruiting, performance management and employee relations.
• Navigate through various labour relations issues.
• Investigate employee relations issues including employee matters and performance issues while maintaining confidentiality, consistency, and sensitivity.
• Support and participate in the disability management process.
• Provide support for the People Central Performance and Development programs and the Human Resources Information System.
• Generate regular and ad hoc reports on specific HR metrics.
• Facilitate supervisor development workshops on HR topics.

Education

Degree in Human Resources, Business or Organizational Development or equivalent
