Job summary

Elk Valley Resources is seeking an Advisor, Human Resources to lead a broad range of HR services for internal operations across diverse departments. The role requires flexibility, calmness under pressure, and a commitment to integrity and confidentiality in all HR matters.

The ideal candidate will have broad HR experience, strong relationship-building across levels, and a track record of delivering high-quality HR support within a busy mining environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business or Organizational Development or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
  • Provide coaching and resources to employees and supervisors with respect to career development, compensation, recruiting, performance management and employee relations.
  • Navigate through various labour relations issues.
  • Investigate employee relations issues including employee matters and performance issues while maintaining confidentiality, consistency, and sensitivity.
  • Support and participate in the disability management process.
  • Provide support for the People Central Performance and Development programs and the Human Resources Information System.
  • Generate regular and ad hoc reports on specific HR metrics.
  • Facilitate supervisor development workshops on HR topics.

Education

Degree in Human Resources, Business or Organizational Development or equivalent

About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Human Resources (HR), the Advisor, Human Resources is responsible for leading and assisting with a broad range of HR services. You will be a key figure supporting internal operations and have the opportunity to build relationships with employees across diverse departments and at all levels of the business.

The right candidate will have a broad experience in human resources and the ability to perform with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.

In this role you will:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business or Organizational Development or equivalent
  • Minimum six years of Human Resources
  • Experience in unionized work environmentis an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
Salary range: 96,000 - 112,600 CAD /year

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
