Job description

About the Opportunity

At POWERGROUP Resources, we partner with businesses across southern Ontario to provide practical HR consulting and recruitment solutions that help them build stronger teams. From recruiting frontline employees to executive leaders, conducting workplace investigations, developing HR programs, and supporting business owners through difficult employee situations, no two days are the same.

We're looking for an experienced HR professional who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to make a real impact for clients.

This is not an internal HR position. You'll work with a portfolio of clients across a wide range of industries, becoming a trusted advisor for both HR and recruitment. One day you may be recruiting a Project Manager for a construction company, the next you could be guiding a client through a performance issue, conducting a workplace investigation, or helping develop HR policies and processes.

This posting reflects a current hiring need for our client. We use AI-assisted tools to help review resumes and identify potential candidate matches, however all hiring decisions are made by our team and the client directly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of client accounts, serving as a trusted advisor and primary HR contact.
  • Provide practical guidance on employee relations, performance management, attendance, workplace conflict, and policy interpretation.
  • Support workplace investigations and prepare related documentation.
  • Draft employment agreements, policies, handbooks, letters, and other HR documents.
  • Provide guidance on employment legislation, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Support accommodations, disability management, leaves of absence, and return-to-work planning.
  • Lead onboarding, offboarding, and other employee lifecycle activities.
  • Identify workplace challenges and recommend practical, business-focused solutions.
  • Participate in HR projects, training initiatives, and process improvements.
  • Travel to client sites as required to provide onsite HR support and consulting services.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for a variety of client positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and develop recruitment strategies.
  • Create and post job advertisements across multiple platforms.
  • Source, screen, interview, and present qualified candidates.
  • Coordinate assessments, reference checks, offers, and onboarding activities.
  • Build talent pipelines and maintain a positive candidate experience.
  • Provide clients with hiring recommendations, market insights, and recruitment guidance.
Preferred
  • CHRP designation or working toward completion.
  • Experience using HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Experience supporting employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
  • Experience developing HR policies and procedures.
  • $60,000 - $70,000 based on experience
  • Full-time permanent position
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Meaningful and varied work across recruitment and HR consulting
  • Opportunity to contribute to a growing organization
