ParaMed is seeking a Human Resources Administrator (Onboarding and Engagement Partner) for an 18-month contract to provide local HR expertise across a district in Ontario. You will handle full onboarding cycles, payroll and benefits administration, and ensure compliance with ESA and collective agreements, while supporting management on HR processes.

  • Coordinate and conduct onboarding for new hires on their first day.
  • Administer payroll and benefits paperwork for new and existing employees.
  • Ensure adherence to union collective agreements, company policies and applicable laws.
  • Serve as first point of contact for employee inquiries.
  • Support management with employee relations concerns and training.

This is a 18-month contract position.


The Human Resources Administrator (Onboarding and Engagement Partner) provides local HR expertise to a District. This includes full cycle employee onboarding, retention and off-boarding. This individual also supports management with various HR functions as required.

What you’ll do:

  • Process new hire paperwork including capturing results for criminal background checks and vulnerable sector results

  • Coordinate and conduct general onboarding for new hires on their first day of employment

  • Administer payroll and benefit paperwork for new and existing employees

  • Abide by Human Resources policies according to union collective agreements, company policies and provincial and federal legislation including Employment Standards Act

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for all employee related inquiries

  • Research, identify and analyze specific employee relations concerns under direction of management

  • Provide exit interviews and ensure employee is off-boarded

  • Support management in the presentation of in-services and general training to client group about general and specific human resources issues, policies, procedures, and documentation

What you bring:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a human resource role

  • Competent working knowledge of Human Resources including: Recruitment and Selections, employee relations, Performance Management, Compensation and Benefits, Training and Development and applicable legislation (ESA, Human Rights, WSIB)

  • Experience in health care preferred

  • Familiar with unions and collective agreements.
