Job summary

ParaMed Home Health Care in Barrie, Ontario is seeking an HR Administrator (Onboarding and Engagement Partner) for an 18-month contract to provide local HR expertise including onboarding, retention, and off-boarding.

You will handle new hire paperwork, onboarding on day one, payroll and benefits paperwork, and ensure compliance with ESA, Human Rights, WSIB and union agreements, serving as the initial contact for employee inquiries while supporting management with training and employee relations

Qualifications

  • At least two years of HR experience.
  • Solid knowledge of recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training, and relevant legislation (ESA, Human Rights, WSIB).
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Familiar with unions and collective agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Process new hire paperwork including criminal background checks and vulnerable sector checks.
  • Coordinate and conduct general onboarding for new hires on their first day of employment.
  • Administer payroll and benefits paperwork for new and existing employees.
  • Adhere to HR policies per union agreements and provincial/federal legislation including ESA.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for employee inquiries.
  • Research and analyze employee relations concerns under management guidance.
  • Provide exit interviews and ensure off-boarding.
  • Support management with training and information sessions for HR topics.

This is a 18-month contract position.

The Human Resources Administrator (Onboarding and Engagement Partner) provides local HR expertise to a District. This includes full cycle employee onboarding, retention and off-boarding. This individual also supports management with various HR functions as required.

What You’ll Do
  • Process new hire paperwork including capturing results for criminal background checks and vulnerable sector results
  • Coordinate and conduct general onboarding for new hires on their first day of employment
  • Administer payroll and benefit paperwork for new and existing employees
  • Abide by Human Resources policies according to union collective agreements, company policies and provincial and federal legislation including Employment Standards Act
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for all employee related inquiries
  • Research, identify and analyze specific employee relations concerns under direction of management
  • Provide exit interviews and ensure employee is off-boarded
  • Support management in the presentation of in-services and general training to client group about general and specific human resources issues, policies, procedures, and documentation
What you bring:
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a human resource role
  • Competent working knowledge of Human Resources including: Recruitment and Selections, employee relations, Performance Management, Compensation and Benefits, Training and Development and applicable legislation (ESA, Human Rights, WSIB)
  • Experience in health care preferred
  • Familiar with unions and collective agreements.
