Position Name – HPC System Administrator

Job Description:

Years of experience: 5+ years in the relevant field

Main Responsibilities

• Identify, diagnose, and resolve level two problems related to software, hardware, LAN, WAN, VPN, Internet, mobile devices, and new computer technologies; communicate solutions to end-users.
• Manage daily operations and support of the HPC environment (Linux).
• Take ownership of the capacity, availability, and performance of HPC clusters.
• Support end-users in job submission and management using Slurm and OpenHPC.
• Migrate existing nodes to Linux as required.
• Manage identity and multifactor authentication, integrating Active Directory with Linux platforms.

Specialized Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• Extensive experience installing and operating Linux platforms in an enterprise environment (Ubuntu/RedHat).
• Experience with KVM or other hypervisors.
• Experience with HPC tools such as Slurm, LSF, or GridEngine.
• Solid knowledge of HPC clusters and their use cases.
• Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
