Job summary

Ruth & Naomi’s Mission in Chilliwack, BC is seeking a Housing Support Worker to join the Interchange team. This casual role supports residents in a trauma-informed, faith-based environment with dignity, safety, and hope at the center.

You will build respectful relationships, provide daily engagement and crisis support, monitor safety, de-escalate conflicts, maintain documentation, and promote a structured living environment while living out our Grace, Hope, and Trust values.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 required; post-secondary in social services preferred.
• First Aid training required (can be obtained post-hire).
• NVCI or similar training is an asset.
• Experience with addiction recovery, mental health, or vulnerable populations.
• Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check required; Class 5 driver’s license preferred.

Ruth & Naomi’s Mission is seeking dedicated Housing Support Workers to join our Interchange team. This frontline role supports residents in a trauma-informed, faith-based environment where dignity, safety, and hope are at the center.

At Interchange, we provide safe and supportive housing for individuals seeking or maintaining abstinence, and we walk with them every step of the way.

What You’ll Do

• Build positive, respectful relationships with residents and foster a supportive atmosphere

What You Bring

• Education & Experience: Grade 12 required; post-secondary in social services or equivalent experience preferred
• Training: First Aid required (can be obtained post-hire), NVCI or similar is an asset
• Experience: Familiarity with addiction recovery, mental health, or vulnerable populations
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, conflict de-escalation, documentation
• Personal Strengths: Emotional boundaries, quick thinking, team-oriented, and compassionate
• Other: Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check (required), Class 5 driver’s license preferred
• Available to work evening, overnight and weekend shifts as needed
