Job summary

Ruth & Naomi's Mission in Chilliwack is seeking a Housing Support Worker to join the Interchange team. You will build respectful relationships with residents, provide daily engagement and crisis support, and help maintain a safe, structured living environment in a trauma-informed, faith-based setting.

Applicants should have a Grade 12, with post-secondary in social services preferred, First Aid, and familiarity with recovery or mental health. Evening, overnight and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 required; post-secondary in social services preferred.
• First Aid certification required (obtainable post-hire).
• Experience with recovery, mental health, or vulnerable populations is a plus.

Ruth & Naomi’s Mission is seeking dedicated Housing Support Workers to join our Interchange team. This frontline role supports residents in a trauma-informed, faith-based environment where dignity, safety, and hope are at the center.

Our supportive housing programs meet people where they are, offering a stable foundation for growth and transformation. At Interchange, we provide safe and supportive housing for individuals seeking or maintaining abstinence, and we walk with them every step of the way.

What You’ll Do

• Build positive, respectful relationships with residents and foster a supportive atmosphere

What You Bring

• Education & Experience: Grade 12 required; post-secondary in social services or equivalent experience preferred
• Training: First Aid required (can be obtained post-hire), NVCI or similar is an asset
• Experience: Familiarity with addiction recovery, mental health, or vulnerable populations
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, conflict de-escalation, documentation
• Personal Strengths: Emotional boundaries, quick thinking, team-oriented, and compassionate
• Other: Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check (required), Class 5 driver’s license preferred
• Available to work evening, overnight and weekend shifts as needed
