Job summary

Ruth & Naomi's Mission in Chilliwack, BC is looking for an Employment Program Coach to support individuals facing barriers to employment. This part-time role (Thu-Sun) offers hands-on coaching across our Coffee program, Street Team, and community projects to help participants gain skills and confidence for meaningful work.

You'll mentor, coordinate activities, and document progress while fostering a trauma-informed, supportive learning environment that empowers participants to move toward

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals experiencing barriers to employment.
• Experience supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, addiction, mental health challenges, or other complex life circumstances.
• Coaching, mentoring, employment support, or vocational rehabilitation experience.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
• First Aid, Naloxone, and De-escalation Training (or willingness to obtain)
• Lived or living experience related to mental illness, substance use, recovery, or barriers to employment is valuable; applicants with this experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor participants as they develop workplace skills and employment readiness.
• Support participants in gaining hands-on experience through Ruth's Coffee, Street Team, and other placements.
• Coordinate Street Team activities, schedules, and daily logistics.
• Supervise participants during community-based work experiences.
• Build positive relationships with participants, staff, businesses, and community partners.
• Support employment readiness workshops and participant development.
• Monitor participant progress and maintain accurate documentation.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and trauma-informed learning environment.

$28.84 per hour

Ruth & Naomi's Mission is seeking a compassionate, engaging, and motivated Employment Program Coach to support individuals experiencing barriers to employment as they build the skills, confidence, and experience needed to move toward meaningful and sustainable employment.

Working as part of our Employment Program team, you'll coach and mentor participants through hands-on work placements across Ruth's Coffee, our Street Team initiative, community projects, and other employment opportunities. If you're passionate about empowering others, building relationships, and seeing people succeed, we'd love to hear from you!
