Qualifications

  • 2-year Diploma or equivalent in a related field.
  • Knowledge of Landlord/Tenant Legislation is required.
  • Understanding of current housing market, vacancy rates and rental amounts.
  • Knowledge of motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Strong understanding of poverty-related issues in urban Aboriginal communities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Bent Arrow’s mission and values.
  • Understanding the impact of cultural loss and intergenerational housing issues.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal teams to manage landlord interactions.
  • Know and apply Residential Tenancy Act requirements.
  • Address landlord inquiries and support issue resolution.
  • Develop long-term, beneficial landlord relationships.
  • Maintain accurate landlord contact information for staff.
  • Document in ETO database and keep client files up to date.
  • Must have own vehicle, valid driver’s license, and travel as needed.
  • Attend meetings and provide mediation or clarification with landlords.
  • Participate in agency responsibilities and cross-training as needed.
