Job summary

West Broadway Community Organization is seeking a Housing Coordinator to oversee housing initiatives, engage residents and stakeholders, and support program delivery in the West Broadway neighbourhood. The role involves coordinating plans, liaising with government, organizing workshops, and supervising interns.

The position requires a BA and/or Urban Planning Master’s or related diploma, 3–5 years in housing delivery, and a commitment to inclusive community development.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor of Arts and/or Master of Urban Planning or Community Development Worker Diploma and/or equivalent education and experience
  • Three to five years of related work experience in community-based housing delivery, community planning, housing development and research
  • A background in not-for-profit housing development, community-based planning and community initiatives implementation would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the West Broadway Housing Plan 2021-2026 and assist in planning a 2027 plan.
  • Maintain positive relationships with residents, stakeholders and government representatives.
  • Provide initiatives to address local housing needs and promote sustainable housing projects.
  • Organize and deliver housing-related workshops and training for local stakeholders.
  • Supervise student internships and research projects.
  • Support and oversee WBCO housing programs and ensure timely reporting.
