Job summary

Jobtailor in Newmarket, Ontario is seeking a Housing & Community Outreach Worker to provide short-term case management for individuals facing homelessness or housing insecurity. You will collaborate with local partners to assess needs and connect clients to housing, health, and social services.

Responsibilities include outreach across York Region, developing housing resources, and supporting eviction-prevention efforts.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree preferred; BSW/MSW encouraged.
  • Minimum 1 year of case management/short-term case management experience.
  • Minimum 1 year related experience supporting people with housing needs.
  • Knowledge of housing issues in York Region; Residential Tenancies Act familiarity.
  • Knowledge of eviction prevention strategies and community resources.
  • Must be able to work in an office and commute across York Region.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to partner with clients and organizations.
  • Problem-solving skills in identifying and referring individuals to resources.

Requirements
