Job summary

Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa is seeking a Houseperson to support the housekeeping leadership team. The role offers exposure to a luxury hotel environment with a strong emphasis on guest satisfaction and teamwork.

Responsibilities include assisting room attendants, handling guest requests, cleaning and restocking, and maintaining inventory, while following Accor and brand safety standards. Competitive hourly pay is provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, friendly and engaging service to all guests and respond promptly to special requests.
• Engage with guests and anticipate their needs to deliver intuitive service.
• Assist Room Attendants to ensure guest rooms are prepared efficiently.
• Respond to guests' requests for items like cribs, cots and extra towels.
• Clean all assigned areas including bathrooms, replenish supplies and maintain cleanliness.
• Collect dirty linen, garbage and recyclables from carts and closets.
• Maintain inventory in housekeeping closets and support cross-department collaboration.
• Follow ALL Safe and Accor brand standards and safety policies.

Job Description

Reporting to the Housekeeping Leadership Team, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Offer professional, friendly and engaging service to all guests and responding timely to any special requests
• Provide intuitive service, engaging with external and internal guests and anticipating their needs
• Assist Room Attendants to ensure guest rooms are prepared efficiently
• Respond timely to guests’ special requests for miscellaneous items i.e.: cribs, cots, extra towels, etc.
• Clean all assigned areas including: sanitizing, dusting, pickup and delivery of linen from rooms/carts, vacuuming, spot cleaning carpets, bathroom cleaning, window cleaning, replenish rooms with supplies, maintaining exterior cleanliness, etc.
• Collect dirty linen, garbage and recyclables from Room Attendants’ carts and closets
• Maintain inventory in the Housekeeping closets
• Foster positive cross departmental relationships to create a seamless experience
• Follow detailed housekeeping standards as set through our ALL Safe – Stay Well, Leading Quality Assurance and Accor’s brand standards
• Follow departmental policies and procedures
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies
• Participate in renovation projects as needed
• Report necessary maintenance items
• Other duties as required

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work including frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
