Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa is seeking a friendly and professional Doorperson/Valet to warmly welcome guests and deliver luxury valet service. You will handle vehicle keys securely, communicate rates and guest benefits, and maintain an elegant arrival experience while assisting guests with local information and services.

Shifts include weekends/evenings with potential overnight coverage. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, be fluent in English and French, and demonstrate

• Assist with overnight operations when needed.
• Provide guidance on hotel amenities and local attractions.

Job Description:

• Warmly welcome arriving guests and confidently present valet parking as the preferred hotel parking solution.
• Deliver an exceptional luxury experience throughout every guest interaction.
• Greet guests and colleagues with professionalism, warmth, and genuine hospitality.
• Securely label and store all vehicle keys in designated locked locations.
• Clearly communicate valet rates and exclusive guest benefits.
• Maintain a smooth, elegant arrival experience by keeping entrances clear and traffic flowing efficiently.
• Conduct a meticulous vehicle inspection and document any pre-existing damage.
• Provide knowledgeable guidance on hotel amenities, dining, events, transportation, and local attractions.
• Retrieve guest belongings and fulfill special requests promptly and discreetly.
• Respond to emergency situations in accordance with hotel safety protocols.
• Promote guest and colleague safety by promptly reporting concerns to Security and Management.
• Consistently uphold Fairmont luxury service standards and valet excellence.
• Proactively address and report operational, safety, and appearance deficiencies.
• Confidently operate all vehicle types, including manual transmissions.
• Maintain flexibility to support overnight operations when required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the guest experience.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Available to work weekends, evenings and shift work
• Excellent verbal communication skills

• Valid Driver’s License with no infractions
• Exceptional verbal communication in both English and French.

Physical Aspects of Position (included but not limited to):

• Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
• Physical ability to operate a vehicle (foot pedals, gear shift, steering wheel, etc.)
