We’re looking for a dependable House Person to join our Housekeeping team at Chateau Lacombe Hotel. If you’re hands-on, organized, take pride in keeping spaces clean and guest-ready, and enjoy a role that keeps you moving throughout the day, this may be a great fit for you.

This position requires a flexible schedule and may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the House Person supports the overall cleanliness, presentation, and operation of the hotel. This position is responsible for maintaining public areas and guestroom floors, assisting the Housekeeping team with heavier tasks, transporting linens and supplies, responding to guest and departmental requests, and completing specialized cleaning as required.

The House Person works independently and as part of the Housekeeping team to help ensure guest and work areas are clean, safe, well maintained, and ready for use.

What You’ll Do (includes but is not limited to):

• Clean and maintain hotel public areas, including lobbies, corridors, elevators, washrooms, and other assigned areas
• Assist Room Attendants with heavier Housekeeping duties, including stripping guestrooms and moving linens and supplies
• Collect, transport, sort, and distribute linens and Housekeeping supplies
• Deliver and set up guest-requested items such as cots, cribs, microwaves, and refrigerators
• Complete specialized cleaning, including carpet, floor, and grout cleaning, using appropriate equipment and cleaning products
• Remove garbage, recycling, and other waste from assigned areas
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest and departmental requests
• Assist with moving furnishings, equipment, and supplies when required
• Identify and report maintenance concerns, damage, safety hazards, and other issues requiring attention
• Follow established procedures for lost and found items
• Use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment safely and in accordance with established procedures
• Support the Housekeeping department with additional cleaning and operational duties as assigned

What You Bring:

• Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or cleaning experience is preferred; hotel experience is an asset
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, Associates, and supervisors
• Ability to safely use cleaning products, equipment, and tools required for the position
• Ability to manage changing priorities and respond to requests in a busy hotel environment

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This is a physically active position requiring extended periods of standing and walking, along with frequent bending, reaching, twisting, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and repetitive movement. The position requires the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to approximately 50 lbs and to push or pull carts and cleaning equipment.

Work is performed throughout the hotel, including public areas, guestroom floors, corridors, linen and storage areas, and other assigned spaces. The position involves regular use of cleaning products and equipment and may include exposure to dust, moisture, odours, waste, sharps, biohazards, and varying temperatures.
