Job summary

Fairmont Vancouver Airport is seeking a diligent Houseperson to support our Housekeeping team. You will help prepare guest rooms and public spaces, maintain closets, and respond to guest requests, ensuring a welcoming environment for every traveler.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, generous hourly wage of 32.00 CAD after probation, and perks including dry cleaning, staff dining, transit reimbursement, and hotel stay discounts across Accor properties.

Qualifications

  • Experience in housekeeping is an asset.
  • Excellent organization and time management.
  • Able to work cohesively with colleagues with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service.
  • Assist Housekeeping to ensure guest rooms are prepared efficiently.
  • Maintain inventory in Housekeeping closets.
  • Respond to guests' requests for items (cribs, towels, etc.).
  • Collect dirty linen, garbage and recyclables.
  • Perform carpet and upholstery cleaning.
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures.
  • Report maintenance items.
  • Provide overnight shift coverage when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Houseperson

An exceptional guest experience begins even before check-in and extends throughout every stay. As a Houseperson, the organizational support you provide to the Housekeeping team will ensure our guest rooms and public spaces are well equipped and welcoming – and our guests feel valued.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Ensure Housekeeping departmental standards are followed
  • Assist Room Attendants to ensure guest rooms are prepared efficiently
  • Maintain inventory in the Housekeeping closets
  • Respond timely to guests’ special requests for miscellaneous items i.e.: cribs, cots, extra towels etc.
  • Collect dirty linen, garbage and recyclables from Room Attendants’ carts and closets
  • Carpet and upholstery cleaning
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Report necessary maintenance items
  • Must be able to provide overnight shift coverage
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Previous housekeeping experience is an asset
  • Excellent organization skills and time management
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
  • Ability to anticipate and focus attention on guest needs, being professional and welcoming
Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following:
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40+ lbs
  • Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
