Job Description

Housekeeping Supervisor
You will play a pivotal role within our Housekeeping department working alongside a fantastic team. If you 'dream of clean' have a keen attention to detail and love working with people, this is the role for you!

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure the greatest attention to detail and most importantly the highest standards for overall cleanliness
  • Inspect approximately 50 rooms in line with brand standards
  • Ownership of individual sections and maintenance of rooms cleanliness. Reporting any issues in rooms pertaining to Engineering
  • Ensure high morale and productivity levels through training, development and ongoing communication. Including performance reviews and corrective action and counseling sessions
  • Coach employees and support an environment of teamwork and recognition by leading by example
  • Suggest and implement ideas to improve service delivery by streamlining procedures and combining resources to remove obstacles
  • Building strong relationships with all departments, in particular Engineering, Front Office, and Food & Beverage
  • Actively seek feedback from colleagues and guests, following-up and taking action to improve GSI and Colleague Engagement Survey results
  • Actively participate in Fairmont’s environmental program and department specific initiatives in working towards sustainable operations
  • Health & Safety conscious and actively involved in maintaining a safe work environment. Ensure all Health & Safety standards are met, procedures followed, and colleagues have the correct knowledge and tools to work safely
  • Actively support and participate in Housekeeping and hotel vision objectives
  • Upholds the highest standard of internal and external customer service at all times
  • Assisting in making up rooms when needed.
  • Promoting positive colleague relations by maintaining an environment of open communication, trust, and mutual respect.
  • Performing any other tasks as assigned by management.
  • Availability for shift work, including weekends, mornings, and evenings.
Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor in a luxury hotel, with previous Housekeeping/Coordinator experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain high productivity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with a strong commitment to standards and quality.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a professional telephone manner.
  • Familiar with WHMIS and safety standards, ensuring a health and safety-conscious work environment.
  • Proven leadership skills that foster colleague development, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.
  • Fluency in English and proficiency with Opera Cloud, HotSOS, and REX systems preferred.
  • Effective time management and flexibility to work in a dynamic, diverse team environment.
  • Ability to work a variety of hours/days/holidays/weekends as business needs require.
